Psychotherapy Website in a Week
Client: Independent Psychotherapist
Brief Overview
This project was part of my Website in a Week service, designed to give therapists, creatives, and small business owners a professional, clean online presence without the overwhelm. My client, a psychotherapist, came to me with a dated website and a clear intention: to have a site that truly reflects who she is and what it’s like to work with her.
Why a New Website?
The original site was outdated and lacked the depth and warmth that reflected the therapist’s approach. After seeing websites I’d designed for other professionals, she reached out for a refresh that felt more aligned with her personality and values as well as being easy to navigate.
The Challenges
The previous site felt dated and didn’t represent her or her practice well.
It lacked key information that potential clients often look for.
The design didn’t support a strong user experience or build trust.
The Audience
The target audience includes individuals seeking therapy. Visitors need to feel safe, informed, and able to understand who the therapist is and how she works. First impressions are vital and the website needed to offer clarity, calm, and connection.
The Goals
Improve overall user experience
Establish credibility and professionalism
Provide insight into who she is and how she works as a therapist
Create a place to direct potential clients
Desired Features
The focus was on simplicity and ease of navigation.
Clear and intentional text
Professional imagery
A rotating photo gallery to offer visual warmth
A clean, easy-to-use contact page
Design & Process
We worked together closely, and from the start, communication was open and collaborative. She let me know how she works best, and I adjusted my support accordingly, offering structure when needed.
The Outcome
The finished site now offers a welcoming space that reflects who she is and how she works, something she’s proud to share with potential clients. It serves as a clear, professional home online, offering both information and reassurance to those who may be considering therapy.
Final Thoughts
“Use Clare!!!”
That’s the advice Amy would give to any therapist or business owner thinking about a new website.
