Content Writing and SEO For Wedding Florists: What to Write About on Your Blog

If you’ve been mulling over writing blogs for your website and wondering how effective content writing and SEO for wedding florists is - the answer is that they go hand in hand. Sometimes you just need to get started. You’ll find my blog checklist - which I hope is helpful when it comes to how to structure your blog - at the bottom of this page - if you have any questions feel free to send me an email HERE.

Before transitioning to my SEO strategist work I had my own wedding and event florist studio - my work today grew out of my interest and excitement for SEO (I know!) figuring out how it works and the SEO strategy behind reaching that number one spot on page one of Google in a very competitive local area. Five flower shops within a mile of my studio - blimey!

I have experience as a wedding florist and understand the nuances of SEO, how it works and how it can work for your business. Here are a few of my tips for content writing and SEO for florists.

Why Blogging Still Works

A well-written blog post can:

  • Improve your visibility in Google searches

  • Build trust with potential wedding and event clients

  • Show off your expertise and personality

  • Drive traffic to your website from Pinterest and social platforms

  • Help your ideal clients understand how you can help them

When potential customers Google things like “what are the top five flowers for a summer wedding?” or “wedding venues in (choose location)” you want your blog to be the one that shows up.

That’s where blog strategy and content writing and SEO come in.

Want Your Blog to Show Up in AI Search? Here’s What to Know

Search is changing really fast. Google and tools like ChatGPT are now using AI to summarize answers directly in search results. If you want your blog to show up in those AI-generated answers, the key is clarity. Write like a human but structure the blog for AI design, that means writing helpful, well-structured content that directly answers questions your audience is likely to type or say out loud (think: “What should I write on my blog as a coach?” or “Do I really need a website as a creative?”). Use clear headers, concise answers, and keywords that mirror real search intent. When you write blog content that’s genuinely useful and easy to understand, you increase the chances that AI tools will feature your work in their results, sending traffic straight to your site. A quick note on keywords: include keywords, keyword phrases and words around these keywords - this gives a strong signal to Google that your content is valuable, it’s relevant and more inclined to position you in front of your ideal client. Here’s a link to a blog I wrote about keywords to help you with your content writing and SEO.

7 Blog Content Ideas for Wedding Florists

1. Answer Your Most Asked Questions

If a client or follower asks you something, chances are other people are Googling it too. Try blog titles like:

  • “What’s flowers are available for a summer wedding?”

  • “How long does a wedding florist need to set up?”

  • “How much do wedding flowers cost?”

2. Show Your Process

Walk people through how you work. It builds trust and gives potential clients a sense of what it’s like to work with you. Try:

  • Behind the scenes of a recent wedding or event

  • How I approach a prep day

  • 5 things I always ask new clients

3. Share Client Stories or Case Studies

If you want more of the kinds of clients you love working with, highlight them!

  • Describe the challenge and the transformation - “keeping flowers alive using sustainable mechanics”

  • Share before/after visuals or testimonials

  • Include keywords like case studies for creative businesses or real client results

4. Write Seasonal or Timely Content

Google loves relevant, date driven content. Your readers do too. Ideas include:

  • “How to design flowers for your Easter table”

  • “Spring Weddings: Our Favourite Flowers”

Bonus: These types of blogs are easy to repurpose for social media or newsletters.

5. Educate Your Audience

  • Pricing for wedding and event flowers or daily flower delivery

  • Using sustainable mechanics rather than floral foam

  • How to keep your flowers alive for longer

6. Roundups + Resource Lists

Create a blog post that compiles tips, tools, or ideas. These are helpful, skimmable, and perfect for internal linking.

  • My go-to tools on a wedding day

  • Flowers and foliage that inspire me right now

7. Expand on Your Instagram Posts

Already written a great caption or Reel? Expand on it.

  • Turn that 200-word post into a full blog with more details

  • Add links, photos, or resources

  • Finish with a CTA to your service or lead magnet

Final Thought: Structure + Clarity = SEO Win

Blogging isn’t about perfection it is about connection. If you can be consistent with your blogs then great but if you only manage a blog hear and there that’s fine too - yes, writing more content will impact your SEO but it’s likely you have a 101 other things to do too - right?

And if you want that blog post to show up in Google or AI-generated summaries, keep this in mind:

  • Use clear H2 and H3 headings

  • Answer specific questions

  • Write in your voice (that’s the part AI can’t replicate)
